International delegates

As an international participant, do I need an Australian Visa to attend MedInfo 2023?

Unless you are an Australian citizen, you will need a valid Australian visa to enter the country. New Zealand passport holders can apply for a visa upon arrival. All other passport holders, regardless of age, must apply for a visa before leaving their country. Once your registration is paid we can issue a visa support letter to accompany your visa application.

For further information contact your local consulate or click here.

Where can I exchange currency?

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be able to exchange your local currency for Australian dollar; Travelex, ANZ and Global Exchange are all the foreign currency exchangers located at Sydney airport. There are 18 outlets in total across Terminals 1 and 2.

Foreign currency can also be exchanged at any bank branch. Near ICC Sydney, foreign exchange services are available at Harbourside Shopping Centre.

How will the weather be in the Sydney during the conference?

Located in the Southern Hemisphere where seasons are reversed, July is the middle of Winter (June – August) in Australia. Still, this is Sydney, so the temperatures never plunge to the kind of depths experienced in other countries across the world during wintertime. It is best to pack some sweaters and jackets.

What are some family friendly activities to explore in and around Sydney?

It always helps to know what to expect when you visit a new city. Here are some links to help you explore options and plan your visit:

Health and safety

What happens if Australia/Sydney goes into another lockdown?

However, we are fully prepared to pivot to a virtual conference at short notice should the need arise. We will make sure you don’t miss out on any content and will keep you updated on any changes to the program schedule.

Do you accept preprints?

We do not accept papers that have been published as preprints, as preprint servers such as medRxiv are not geared up to dynamically link to conference proceedings in the same way as they do for journal papers.

Provisions will be made for special cases.

As a speaker, where do I go when I get to the ICC?
